Cloud Backup
Cloud backup for every workload, stored locally in South Africa
Protect servers, workstations and SaaS applications with automated, policy-driven cloud backup — managed from a single platform and stored in local data centres.
Workload coverage
One platform, every workload
From physical servers to cloud applications, protect your customers’ data with a single backup solution that covers the full infrastructure stack.
Physical and virtual servers
Image-level and file-level backup for Windows and Linux servers, including Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines.
Workstations and endpoints
Automated backup for Windows and macOS workstations, protecting user data, configurations and application state.
SaaS applications
Cloud-to-cloud backup for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other SaaS platforms with granular recovery.
Databases and applications
Application-aware backup for Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server, Active Directory and other critical services.
Built for MSPs
Cloud backup that fits MSP operations
Deliver backup as a managed service with tools designed for multi-tenant operations, local compliance and operational consistency.
Single platform for all workloads
Manage server, endpoint and SaaS backup from one console. One agent, one set of policies, one view across customers.
Local data residency
Backup data can be stored in Teraco-hosted data centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town, supporting POPIA and data-sovereignty requirements.
Flexible scheduling and retention
Policy-driven backup schedules with configurable retention periods. Set different policies per customer, workload type or criticality.
Granular and full recovery
Restore individual files, folders, emails or application objects — or recover entire machines to the same or different hardware.
How it works
Getting started with cloud backup
- 1
Onboard through the partner programme
Join as a Soteria Cloud partner to access the platform, pricing and onboarding support.
- 2
Configure backup policies
Define schedules, retention rules and storage targets per customer or workload type using the multi-tenant console.
- 3
Deploy the agent
Install a single lightweight agent on each protected machine. SaaS workloads connect via API without an agent.
- 4
Monitor and manage
Track backup status, receive alerts and run reports across your entire customer base from a central dashboard.
South African data residency
Backup data is stored in Teraco-hosted data centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Local storage supports POPIA compliance, data-sovereignty policies and customer expectations around where their data resides.

Learn moreFrequently asked questions
- What workloads can be backed up through Soteria Cloud?
- Soteria Cloud supports backup for physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware), workstations and endpoints, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server, Active Directory and other critical business applications.
- Where is backup data stored?
- Backup data can be stored in South African data centres hosted in Teraco facilities in Johannesburg and Cape Town, supporting data-residency and sovereignty requirements. Hybrid storage options combining local and cloud storage are also available.
- How does cloud backup differ from disaster recovery?
- Cloud backup protects data by creating copies that can be restored if files are lost, corrupted or deleted. Disaster recovery goes further by enabling rapid failover of entire workloads to cloud infrastructure, minimising downtime during major disruptions. Soteria Cloud offers both capabilities.
- Can MSPs manage backup for multiple customers from one console?
- Yes. The platform is built for multi-tenant MSP operations, allowing service providers to manage backup policies, monitor status and run reports across all customers from a single console.
- Is backup data encrypted?
- Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Encryption keys can be managed by the MSP or customer depending on the configuration.
